FAQs - EcoFinish (AquaBright)

Why are the benefits of coating my pool with EcoFinish / aquaBRIGHT?

  • Color choice and uniformity. Will not “mottle” or fade in large blotchy clouds.

  • Does not require trucking water to protect the finish.

  • No Hot Start. No muriatic acid to cure your masonry (plaster/pebble) finish!

  • pH Neutral. AquaBright reduces chemical usage.

  • Chemical Resistant. Can be cleaned with little or no impact to surface.

  • Immediate startup. Fill immediately and enjoy your pool! No brushing required.

  • Soft & easy on the feet. You won’t believe how great this feels!

What about chemicals?

An AquaBright surface does not alter water’s chemical balance so substantially fewer chemicals are used. Plaster, on the other hand,  reacts with water to raise pH levels.  Gunite/plaster pools use substantially more acid and chlorine to counterbalance this chemical reaction.

What about algae?

Algae grows and is harbored in the pores of the plaster.  Acid baths and scrubbing are required to remove algae in a plaster pool.  With AquaBright algae sweeps right off the surface.

Do you use sub contractors?

No.  We perform all of our own work.

Are the fumes toxic?

During application of the AquaBright finish, there is no significant odor. During the surface preparation stage, Acetone is used which has odor that may be somewhat offensive to some sensitive people but is not harmful to their health.  We meet all California VOC laws.

How is the AquaBright terminated?

We protect all fittings and fixtures with a fireproof masking to protect them. AquaBright is terminated at the base of your waterline tile, or can even be extended to terminate at the base of your coping or your deck.

What is the difference in price between plaster, pebble and AquaBright?

Prices for plaster will vary depending on the product and quality of work.  It is not so much the cost but the durability and the warranty that is offered that sets the products apart. AquaBright is long-lasting, easy to maintain, premium pool finish. The price will likely be similar to the price of a pebble finish.

What about colors?

Beautiful colors that look similar to a pebble-type finish. A vast selection of standard colors are available.

How long will it last?

Because it is pH neutral and manufactured using only virgin Polyethylene Copolymer resin, AquaBright will far outlast plaster and cementitous pool finishes.

After application do I have to brush the pool for days like with plaster?  When do I fill the pool?

No brushing required! Immediately ready for water and swimming. Simply fill the pool and balance the chemicals.

How long does it take to resurface my pool?

1-3 days depending on the pool size and condition of the substrate.

How does it bond?

Our exclusive primer coat bonds AquaBright to plaster, pebble, and fiberglass.
